Age Limit : Must not be below 35 years of age and not more than 45 years.

Eligibility Criteria :
(i) Candidates must be a holder of degree in law of a recognized University.
(ii) Candidates must be practicing as an Advocate in Courts of Civil and Criminal jurisdiction on the last date fixed for receipt of applications and must have so practiced for a period of not less than 7 (seven) years as on 16 05.2019.
(iii) Knowledge of Manipur State Official Language (Manipuri) . Serving Judicial Officers having seven years practice, as Advocate and Judicial Service put together/ are permitted to participate in the selection subject to the outcome of SLP No. 14156/2015 pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.

Mode of Selection for High Court of Manipur Recruitment 2019 (April)
(i) Eligible candidates shall be required to appear in written examination in the exam centre and for Viva-Voce at their own expenses before the High Court of Manipur, Imphal or at such other places as may be specified by the High Court.
(ii) Only such candidates will be called for Viva-voce as the High Court may decide on the basis of merit of their performance in the written examination. Provided that a candidate appearing in the written examination for selection by direct recruitment from amongst the eligible advocates must secure 50% or more marks in the written Examination. The maximum number of candidates who are to appear in the interview Viva-voce will be in the ratio of 1:3 of total number of vacant post.
(iii) The Viva-voce shall carry a maximum of 50 marks and candidate should secure at least 40% marks for inclusion in the select list.
(iv) The appointment to the last Un-reserved Regular vacancy (i.e. id Un-Reserved seat) shall be kept vacant subject to the outcome of the Writ Petition (C) No. 294 of 2015 pending in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
(v) A candidate selected for appointment shall be required to undergo medical examination of physical fitness by a Medical Board before he/she is appointed. Every candidate who appears before medical board shall pay the Medical Examination fee which, in no case, is refundable.
Scheme of Examination for High Court of Manipur Recruitment 2019 (April)
District Judge (Entry Level) Direct Recruitment Examination consisting of 3 papers - 3 hours duration each.
The competitive Examination shall be conducted with the syllabus as given below:-
(i) General Awareness and English: One paper of 100 marks for a duration of 3 hours to test the General Knowledge, Aptitude, Intelligence, Test of Comprehension and Expression of Law and General English including Essay Writing on Legal Topic and Information Technology.
(ii) Law Paper - I : One paper of 100 marks for a duration of 3 hours regarding objective questions and problems of law as regards the Transfer of Property Act, Civil Procedure Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Indian Evidence Act, Indian Penal Code, Limitation Act.
(iii) Law Paper - II : One paper of 100 marks for a duration of 3 hours - consisting of Judgment Writing (Paper Book to be supplied) - Legal Theories on Jurisprudence Provision of Constitution of India.
Note : (The candidate is expected to refer to the relevant decisions of the Apex Court and the High Courts while writing answers in Law Paper I and II)
(iv) Viva Voce/interview: 50 marks
