Atmanirbhar Assam is a new scheme recently launched by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam. In a recent cabinet meeting held on 12th September ,2023 Assam Chief Minister unveils a financial scheme named as "Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan". Under this scheme the government aims to provide financial assistance to aspiring youths in support of their entrepreneurial journey. The scheme will provide monetary support to unemployed youths to start their business. Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme 2023 - Full Details

Name of the Scheme :  Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan

Financial Year : 2023-2024 and 2024-2025

No of targeted beneficiary : 2 lakhs

Financial Assistance : Rupees 2 Lakh or 3 Lakh or 5 Lakh in two installments.

Eligibility Criteria Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme 2023

Applicant for Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme must fulfill the following eligibilty conditions.

Residentship : Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.

Age Limit : 18-45 Years. The upper age relaxation will be 3 years for OBC, SC and ST applicants.

Educational Qualification: Beneficiary must be minimum Class 10 passed.

Professional Skills: Beneficiary should have skills, knowledge, etc. to undertake income generating activities (ITI, Diploma, etc.)

Bank Account: To receive the monetary fund, the beneficiary must have a scheduled commercial bank account opened before 31st December 2023.

Loan Defaulter: Beneficiary should not have a back history of defaulting any loan.

Government Service: Beneficiary should not belong to a family of govt service holder/ pensioner.

Income: Only applicants falling under the BPL category are eligible.

Family: Only one member per family is eligible to apply for Atmanirbhar Assam scheme.

Employment Exchange Registration: Applicants must have registered in Employment Exchange of Assam before 1st April, 2023.

Features of Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme

Extensive Beneficiary Reach

The Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme sets an ambitious goal of encompassing 200,000 deserving recipients within the next two years. To achieve this, the plan aims to target 100,000 young individuals during the fiscal year 2023-24 and another 100,000 during the fiscal year 2024-25.

Financial Support Structure

Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial support in the form of a combination of a government grant and an interest-free government loan. This assistance is designed to facilitate the establishment of micro-enterprises or service units. Recipients, depending on their eligibility, will be entitled to disbursements in two installments, ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 rupees.

Empowering through Skill Enhancement

Selected beneficiaries will be required to undergo a comprehensive one-month training program offered by accredited educational and skill training institutions. This training is geared towards enhancing their entrepreneurial, managerial, and accounting skills. As a stipend during this training period, each participant will receive an allowance of Rs 10,000 to support their learning journey.
