Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam Job Vacancy 2023 (September) - Full Details
1) Post Name : Scientific Officer for Directorate of Forensic Science, Guwahati, Assam
No of Posts : 01 [Open category-01]
Salary / Pay Scale : Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,000/- with Grade Pay Rs. 12,700/-
Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must have passed M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry/ Physics from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification : Research/analytical/scientific photography experience.
Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2023. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years and by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i,e. upto 41 years as per Govt. rules.
2) Post Name : Scientific Officer for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Silchar, Bongaigaon, Tezpur and Dibrugarh respectively under the Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam.

Drugs and Narcotics Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry from a recognized university.
Toxicology Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry from a recognized university.
Biology Division: M.Sc. in Zoology or M.Sc. in Botany or M.Sc. in Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Anthropology(Physical) or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Zoology/Botany/Biotechnology/Anthropology(Physical) from a recognized university.
Serology Division: M.Sc, in Zoology or M.Sc. in Botany or M.Sc. in Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Anthropology (Physical) or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Zoology/Botany/Biotechnology/Anthropology (Physical) from a recognized university.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must fulfill the following.
Biology Division: M.Sc. in Zoology or M.Sc. in Botany or M.Sc. in Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Anthropology(Physical) or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Zoology/Botany/Biotechnology/Anthropology(Physical) from a recognized university.
Chemistry Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry from a recognized university.
Physics Division: M.Sc. in Physics or M,Sc, in Forensic Science with specialization in Physics from a recognized university.
Age Limit : The candidates should not be less than 21years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 0l/01/2023. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years. and by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years as per Govt. rules.
Other Necessary Criteria for all the posts
i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. The candidate must upload PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose/Employment Exchange Registration certificate/ Voter lD card of the candidate or his/her parents will be treated as proof of residency along with the online application form, State Govt. Employees of Assam need not submit any documents regarding domicile proof, however, they will have to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective employer.
ii) The Small Family Norms for the posts : As per govt. rules, candidate have to submit a declaration regarding "The Small Family Norms" in Form - A at the time of applying for the post.
